The Hood College men’s lacrosse team holds a 5-3 record as the MAC Commonwealth Conference games begin.

The Blazers have a young roster after graduating several offensive threats, but many first-year and sophomore players have stepped up to contribute to the team’s success.

Sophomore attacker JT Harich leads the team with 20 points and 13 goals. First-year attacker Deegan Workman follows closely with 17 points and 10 goals on the season.

“Everything moves faster in college so taking the time to make the right decisions has been crucial,” Workman said.

Sophomore faceoff specialist Lucas Strand has won 88 faceoffs and 62 ground balls this season.

“They’re young, motivated and skilled, they all bring a tremendous amount of value to our program,” coach Brad Barber said. “It’s a lot to be asked in year one to produce at the level of a junior or senior, but our guys have been responding.”

The Blazers look to continue this success going into conference games, facing tougher competitors such as Eastern University and No. 8 York College.

“It’s no hidden secret that those are the top teams in our conference; our goal is to always focus on ourselves and our process,” Barber said. “We believe in our group and what we have and feel we will elevate our competition level against these two.”

The Blazers ended the 2025 season 3-4 in MAC Commonwealth play, beating Widener University for the first time in program history. The team hopes to carry this momentum into this season’s conference play.

“We’re a playoff contender,” Barber said. “We feel that if we perfect our process, the results will take care of themselves.”
