The Hood College women’s lacrosse team is aiming to overcome its overall record curse and secure a spot in the MAC playoffs this season.

The Blazers have seen a 7-10 overall record and 3-4 MAC record in their last two seasons.

With a powerful MAC conference, consisting of 7-0 York College and 6-1 Messiah University, the Blazers are focused the No. 4 spot.

“We are heavily eyeing that fourth seed,” coach Emily Barber said. We have the potential to make big waves this season and compete against tougher competition.”

The team intends to rely on its strong senior class this season to propel itself in the conference.

“This senior class has made a huge impact for our program in numerous ways,” Barber said. “They’ve built off of previous success and previous upperclassmen while breaking records themselves and we have great leadership within our captains and our senior class which will help propel our culture into competing harder against MAC teams.”

Overall, the Blazers are returning this season with one goal in mind: making the MAC playoffs for the first time in Hood history.

“We want to make playoffs,” Barber said. “We have great talent, great culture and awesome girls.”

The Blazers begin their 2026 season at Thomas Athletic Field against Bridgewater College on Feb. 18.
