Hood director of human resources has retired

Executive Director of Human Resources Carol Wuenschel retired from Hood College on Jan. 29.

Wuenschel worked at the college for 23 years as a faculty member in the George B. Delaplaine Jr. School of Business and later served as the school’s Title IX coordinator.

“Throughout her tenure, she has demonstrated the highest ethical and professional standards in supporting the needs of employees and managers,” Vice President for Finance and Treasurer Chuck Mann said in an email. “Carol has always been fair, compassionate, and supportive to all that requested her services.”

Thurmond Maynard, chief of campus safety, will serve as the Title IX coordinator until Hood can find a permanent replacement.

“She is exceptional and will be greatly missed,” Mann said.
