The losses continue to pile up for the Blazers men’s volleyball team. After going 6-23 in the 2025 season and a rocky start to the 2026 season with a current record of 1-5, the Blazers are looking to make progress on the court.

“We do not seek perfection, but are working to be mindful in our play so that we can learn from our mistakes, correct them, and move on,” coach Katie Barnett said. “Our goal is to get 1% better each time we step on the court and give our absolute best.”

A strong returning junior class with many statistical leaders, including Charlie Casas, who leads the team with 80 kills, and Sean Seely, who leads the team in digs with 34, has the Blazers looking upward.

None of it has translated into wins yet, and the standings remain unforgiving. But the team has not unraveled. Practices remain competitive, and players say the group has stayed engaged despite the results.

“I am always working my hardest and putting the most effort I can into practices and games,” junior Sean Seely said.

“As a coaching staff, we expect our student-athletes to make every repetition count and to compete in the practice gym as we would come game day,” Barnett said.

With several matches remaining, the focus has shifted to finishing the season with sharper execution and measurable improvement.

“I think we have taken tremendous strides, and I am confident we will continue to see forward progress,” Barnett said.

The Blazers are back in action at The Woodsboro Bank Arena on Feb. 19, taking on the Mustangs of Stevenson University.
