The Latinx Student Union (LSU), led by third-year returning Executive Board member and President Alison Munoz, is a student-led Latinx-based organization at Hood College aimed to be an inclusive and welcoming place for people of all backgrounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
LSU aims to be a diverse environment that celebrates culture and is welcoming to those who are looking for safe spaces and are willing to learn new things. The organization is best known for Fiesta, a fun cultural and social event hosted annually in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month on the quad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fiesta is only one of the many events LSU plans on hosting. Whether LSU hosts a quiet craft night or a Zumba night, the organization finds ways to make everyone feel welcome and excited to join.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI believe this combination of fun, engagement and safety is what makes LSU such a meaningful organization to the Hood College campus,\u201d Munoz said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Munoz explained that LSU is always looking for new members and has openings in every way. A student could be a part of the executive board, regularly attend meetings, or just hang out. LSU wants to be a safe environment for everyone to enjoy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cLSU is devoted to making students feel like they have an outlet where they can get away from their everyday lives,\u201d Munoz said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students who are interested in keeping up with LSU events or attending a meeting can get up-to-date information by following the LSU Instagram, @hoodcollegelsu, or by looking for flyers in the Hodson-Beneficial Library. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
