Hood College nursing students and faculty have received several accomplishments on both the local and national levels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The program selected two students, junior Keiry Diaz and senior Drew Keiser, to attend American Association of Colleges of Nursing student policy summit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is a significant achievement and an excellent opportunity to strengthen their understanding of nursing policy, advocacy, and leadership at the national level,\u201d interim department chair Sandra Thomas-Lalmansingh said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The summit\u2019s focus is to educate nurses about federal health policy, the legislative process and the roles nurses play in shaping healthcare policy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis experience represents growth, leadership, and responsibility,\u201d senior nursing student Drew Keiser said. \u201cI am especially excited about gaining insight into nurse policy development and understanding how our voices contribute to decisions that impact patient care nationwide.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The summit will be held on March 30-31 in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
