The Latinx Student Union hosted a fiesta in front of Coblentz Hall on Sept. 30 to celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was open to the public and drew a large crowd of students, families, and members of the Frederick community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The celebration featured salsa and bachata music, group dance lessons, and food, creating a lively atmosphere on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Organizers said events like these promote inclusivity and cultural awareness while highlighting the Latinx community at Hood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI loved the event. I feel we should have more of these activities throughout the year,\u201d said Mathias Mendoza, a Hood sophomore. \u201cI enjoyed it most when everyone started dancing without fear.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mendoza also noted the food and crowd as highlights. \u201cI also loved the food, but I think a little more would be nice next time because of the number of students who attended,\u201d he said. \u201cOverall, I loved it and feel it was the best event so far.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Latinx Student Union was established to enhance the visibility of Latinx communities and share Latinx culture throughout Hood College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
