Hood College Fellowship of Christian Athletes strives to see the world that was created by Jesus Christ and share it with fellow coaches and athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Members of Hood Athletics meet weekly to discuss the Bible, play games and talk openly about Christianity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThrough FCA I\u2019ve found a community of believers who not only share my heart for Jesus, but my love for sports as well,\u201d Hood women\u2019s cross country runner Briley Sanford said. \u201cBeing a part of FCA has encouraged me in my faith journey and has provided me with so many opportunities to grow closer to God and share the gospel with others.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The club aims to prioritize a connection between student athletes and Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFCA\u2019s mission is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church,\u201d Sanford said. \u201cMeeting in huddles and being in fellowship with each other helps us grow in our faith and encourage each other, and having God at the center of what we do as athletes is important for Christian believers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Members are always welcome to attend the club any week and are highly encouraged to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe encouragement and inspiration from my friends and leaders within FCA has helped me deepen my faith and truly commit my life to following Jesus,\u201d Sanford said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not only does FCA engage with student athletes on campus, but members also reach out to neighboring schools. A highlight of the club is attending Messiah University to come together and talk to their student athletes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cEvery time I interact with someone, whether at FCA or outside of it, I just hope I can be a light for Jesus,\u201d Sanford said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
FCA has given a safe space for athletes worldwide to unite and empower those surrounding them with the message of the Lord.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFCA has provided me with the tools to equip other athletes with God\u2019s word and I have the opportunity to empower others around me because of the impact FCA has had on my life since I was 15,\u201d Sanford said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA huge takeaway from being a part of FCA is that the Lord is with you through your highs and lows even if you make mistakes the Lord is putting you in those positions to learn and help you grow a better relationship with him and how you can implement those lessons in your life,\u201d Regan Tesche, a member of the men\u2019s lacrosse team said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
