That is right. It is time to file your 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes, you need to complete your FAFSA for each year you attend school. Filing your FAFSA does more than just collect data; it allows the school to prepare your financial aid offer for the next academic year. You should apply even if you are not sure of your plans for next year. For some scholarships, especially Maryland State Grants, the date you complete your FAFSA will determine if your grant renews for the coming academic year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Preparing to file your FAFSA:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the new FAFSA is launched, around Dec. 1, the following information will be necessary:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2014 Student FSA ID and password<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2014 Student 2023 Federal Tax Return<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2014 Contributor name and email address (correct spelling is imperative) for their invitation<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2014 Contributor FSA ID and password<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2014 Contributor 2023 Federal Tax Return<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While the 2024-25 FAFSA launch experienced a few bumps, the Department of Education has only made a few changes, and administrators have been \u201clive testing\u201d the new application. This means students should experience fewer difficulties. The FAFSA Simplification Act of 2020 aimed to deliver an easier application process. Students should finally realize the benefits of the updated edits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The winter break is a terrific opportunity to work side by side with your contributor to complete the FAFSA. However, if you need personalized assistance, individual appointments can be made in the Office of Financial Aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
