Hood College students on Wednesday again walked out of class in protest of Israel\u2019s attack on Gaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was organized by a group of students under the name Frederick College Students for Palestine and was advertised via social media, word of mouth, and posters across campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At 12:15 p.m., students walked out of their classes as a sign of protest and met in front of the chapel. From there, students began passing out literature related to the event and signs that had a QR code that contained a petition to call for Hood College to make a statement on the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several speakers stood on the steps of the chapel, speaking about the war in Gaza and their perspectives in front of the crowd of students, faculty, and staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the chapel, students marched across campus to Whitaker student center with Palestinian music playing, where students sat and began chanting a variety of Arabic and English chants in support of Palestine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The march continued to Baker Park where more speeches were given.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event marked the second time Hood students had walked out of class as a show of support for Palestinians in Israel. The first occurred in November when about 100 students left their classes to protest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
