As the season ends, women\u2019s basketball shifts its attention toward rebuilding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Blazers finished the year with an overall record of 4-21 and a record of 3-11 in the Middle Atlantic Conference. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The team had a tough season matching their 4-21 record from the 2022-23 season. The Blazers went 6-20 with a 2-14 record in conference play during the 2021-22 season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Top scorers Chanelle Lee, Tiffany Manning and Na\u2019Vaye Quarles led the team this season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIt was a long season and didn\u2019t end the way we wanted it to, but it prepared us for what\u2019s to come,\u201d Quarles said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI had high hopes for the season, but ultimately we underperformed,\u201d Manning added. \u201cWe were way better than our record showed, but I think we laid a good foundation for the program in the years to come.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Paving the way, these three players were key pieces in the Blazers\u2019 efforts at success, along with their new head coach D\u00e9Ront\u00e9 Polite who started with the team last fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The team is looking forward to the off-season and next winter. Players are hoping to improve on the struggles that have been stuck with the team for multiple years now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe season didn\u2019t end how we wanted it to, but if I\u2019m being honest I feel like this year was a test to see how much of a relationship we can build on and off the court,\u201d senior Nikki Etchison said. \u201cI can say we stuck together through it all and fought until the end.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
