A former member of the Misericordia University women\u2019s soccer team has been hired as Hood\u2019s athletic trainer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The new hire, Jordyn Martini, received her undergraduate degree in exercise science from Misericordia and her master\u2019s degree in athletic training from the University of Delaware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cMy experience has been good so far,\u201d Martini said. \u201cI went to Misericordia for my undergrad, so it was similar to Hood in regard to the small school style.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Martini\u2019s interest in becoming an athletic trainer was inspired by her athletic background. \u201cI played soccer at Misericordia, and just being around sports in general I had my fair share of injuries, which is what sparked my interest,\u201d she said. \u201cI knew I wanted to do something medical-related, and being paired with athletics was great.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Martini was a member of the Misericordia University women\u2019s soccer team for five seasons and was an All-Conference, All-Region and All-American player during her time at the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Away from work, Martini enjoys running and has completed multiple half-marathons. She also enjoys reading, and when home in Ocean City, New Jersey, she enjoys surfing and being out on the beach.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
