We have a close team and we\u2019re young so we\u2019ll only get better with time,\u201d Diehl said.<\/p>\n<p>AMarylandnative fromDamascus, Diehl majors as a Computer Science major with a double minor in Math and Web Development.<\/p>\n<p>Off the field, Diehl is the Computer Science Club President, Vice-President of Ping Pong Club and hosts a radio show along with being a part of SPURS and SAAC.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTime management is key. It can be tough to keep up on academics, especially in season but if you plan your work out ahead of time and stick to your schedule, playing a college sport is a lot of fun and a great experience that I would recommend,\u201d Diehl said.<\/p>\n<p>Men\u2019s Soccer plays its next home game against Widener this Saturday, Sept.29<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Junior Amy Hagerdon plays volleyball as an outside hitter for the Blazers this season.<\/p>\n<p>Hagerdon also participates in Spring sports as a center fielder for softball.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy favorite part of playing both sports is the feeling you get from the deep concentration of every moment in volleyball and mainly hitting in softball. Nothing else matters in the world, not friends, boyfriends, or school but that one play or that one pitch. Life stands still as the game continues,\u201d Hagerdon said.<\/p>\n<p>Hagerdon started playing tee-ball when she was seven and participated in her first volleyball tournament at the age of 11.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a team, we have a lot of potential and we just need to continue to improve and play as a cohesive unit for the rest of the season,\u201d Hagerdon said about the volleyball season.<\/p>\n<p>Hagerdon majors in Biology.\u00a0 She involves herself in campus organizations such as CAB and SPURS.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlaying a collegiate sport is a big time commitment and you have to realize that you come to college for school and not just sports,\u201d Hagerdon said.<\/p>\n<p>Women\u2019s Volleyball has its next home game Oct.3<sup>rd<\/sup> at 7P.M.<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to come out and support both teams along with others and show that Blazer Pride.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>Junior Eric Diehl, co-captain of the Hood men\u2019s soccer team, plays right midfielder during the games.
