Shane O\u2019Keefe (\u201914) is a productive, aggressive player on the men\u2019s lacrosse team.\u00a0 He is tied for second on the team with 10 points and leads the Blazers with six assists.<\/p>\n
The team recently traveled to Neumann University and scored a 6-5 victory.\u00a0 O\u2019Keefe scored four points in the team\u2019s success, and assisted teammate Spencer Freemon in the game-winning goal.<\/p>\n
\u201cI like to make everyone else around me better, and at the end of the game it doesn\u2019t matter to me how many goals I score, it only matters what the final result of the game is,\u201d said O\u2019Keefe.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m looking for the best competition available at this level,\u201d said O\u2019Keefe, \u201cI simply believe in Hood and that we have the potential to be a nasty lacrosse team.\u201d<\/p>\n
The road to success has had its trying times for the first-year lacrosse player, who entered the regular season with a knee injury that forced him to sit out the first three games.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am only a freshman and I have the best defenders for the other team guarding me, who are typically juniors and seniors, so every game is a challenge, but I am ready for that,\u201d said O\u2019Keefe.<\/p>\n
O\u2019Keefe has been playing lacrosse since he was in the second grade and is a native ofSouth Glastonbury,CT.\u201cI will never be satisfied with my play,\u201d said O\u2019Keefe. No matter how many goals or assists I get, there is always something that can be improved.\u201d<\/p>\n
