{"id":4161,"date":"2021-04-19T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-04-19T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hoodcomstudies.com\/theblueandgrey\/?p=4161"},"modified":"2021-04-18T10:16:58","modified_gmt":"2021-04-18T14:16:58","slug":"frederick-county-continues-to-gove-vaccines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theblueandgrey.com\/index.php\/2021\/04\/19\/frederick-county-continues-to-gove-vaccines\/","title":{"rendered":"Frederick County continues to give vaccines"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By Christopher Garrett<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Frederick County\u2019s health&nbsp;department reports 1 in 4 residents are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.&nbsp;The number of vaccinated people has doubled since March&nbsp;19.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Maryland has&nbsp;opened&nbsp;vaccinations at an advanced schedule, all residents aged 16 and older are&nbsp;now&nbsp;eligible to receive their shots. Hood College\u2019s recommends all students, faculty and staff get vaccinated.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Colleges such as Rutgers, Brown and&nbsp;Cornell have announced they will require students to be vaccinated by the fall semester.&nbsp;Hood College has not decided as to vaccination requirements yet.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With growing vaccination rates, Hood College intends to&nbsp;open with&nbsp;normal,&nbsp;in-person classes this fall, starting Aug. 23.&nbsp;Until then, the summer semester will primarily be taught online.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students who have been fully vaccinated can fill out a form if they wish to disclose their status to Hood College. Doing so currently removes some restrictions in cases of exposure.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students should check their emails for updates from&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"mailto:wellness@hood.edu\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wellness@hood.edu<\/a>&nbsp;for guidance on&nbsp;finding a walk-in shot clinic or scheduling an appointment.&nbsp;Self-requested screenings are still in effect for students who wish to be tested.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vaccination requires two doses, 21 or 28 days apart depending on which vaccine is administered.
