Going to college is expensive, and most college students need money.
Many students are always looking for new scholarships and grants to help with college tuition, room and board and other college expenses. Our continuing series explores scholarships that can help offset the costs.
Boren Scholarships and Awards
The Boren scholarships and awards are available to those interested in political science, or foreign policy, and want to work for the federal government. Recipients of scholarships or awards must commit one full year of work and service for the federal government.
Applications vary based on awards and scholarships, but the majority require applicants to submit two essays, responding to the prompts listed on the website, a plan of study for the award or scholarship, a resume listing both academic and professional accomplishments and at least one letter of recommendation.
For a list of specific requirements for the application process, or to which awards would be the best fit for you, information is available as https://www.borenawards.org/. Applications for all awards and scholarships are due Jan. 25, 2025.
