Going to college is expensive, and most college students need money.
Many college students are always looking for new scholarships and grants that help with college tuition, room and board and other college expenses. In our continuing series, we will explore scholarships that can help offset the costs.
Joy Cappel Scholarship
The Joy Cappel Scholarship is open to both undergraduate and graduate students enrolled full-time and studying biology or life sciences.
Applicants are required to fill out the online form and create a video essay in response to the prompt in the application form.
Applications for the spring 2025 semester are open now through Jan. 20. Winning students will be announced two to three weeks after applications close.

Jeffery Isaiah David Memorial Foundation Scholarship
The Jeffery Isaiah David Memorial Foundation Scholarship is open to any undergraduate student enrolled full-time and has a GPA of 3.2 or higher. There are no major or field of study requirements.
Applicants must fill out an online form and submit official transcripts from high school and the most recently completed college semester. Applicants must also submit two letters of recommendation and either a 400-500 word written essay or a four- to five-minute video essay in response to the prompt on the online application.
Applications for the fall 2024 semester are opening soon.

Brent Willis Scholarship
The Brent Willis Scholarship is open to any undergraduate student enrolled full-time and has a GPA of 3.0 or higher. There are no major or field of study requirements.
Applicants must fill out the online form and submit a 500-1,000-word essay responding to the prompt on the online form.
Applications are due Nov. 20, and winning students will be announced in December.
