Students said they noticed a series of hit-and-run accidents over the past several weeks when their vehicles were damaged on campus parking lots.
Chief of Public Safety Thurmond Maynard declined to comment about the incidents, citing privacy concerns.
“I honestly think it’s due to the small spaces and limited parking, but people should really be more careful or at the very least admit their mistake,” said Hannah Armstrong, a student whose car was damaged in a recent hit-and-run. “Parking is tight right now, and some of the spots behind Blazer are extremely tight so these things happen, but it’s really discouraging that it’s happening so frequently and no one is willing to admit that they did it.”
