Choosing who will receive the White Blazer Award is a more thorough process. Student-athletes must submit written explanation as to why they should be selected along with personal references from faculty and professors. The athletic department’s committee, which consists of Jack Mehl, Susan Kolb, Laurie Ward, Jennifer Cooper and Katy Higinbothom, grade the submissions and vote on the best candidates. This year’s award winners were Cailyn Barthlow and Kyle Scott.
