As the Hood College dance team’s fall show nears, rehearsals are beginning to take place and nerves are starting to set-in.

Every year Hood’s dance team puts on two shows, one in the fall and one in the spring. This semester the fall recital will be held on Nov. 5and 6 in the Hodson Auditorium in Rosenstock Hall at 7:30 p.m.

The dance team seems excited and nervous to put on the performance this semester since they haven’t been able to put on a true performance in quite some time due to COVID.

“I am a little nervous about the show, but I am excited to perform,” co-captain Zoe Finholm said. “As a captain, I am helping people prepare for the show by making sure that directions from our director are clear and helping dancers go over choreography. I am a little stressed about the show, but I have been doing some meditation to make sure I am in the right headspace for rehearsals.”

An email from co-captain Dorian Young was sent out to students with details of the event, such as masks being required, how to register to attend the event and a suggested donation upon entry. Students and staff can register for the recital on Pergola Connect and doors open at 7 p.m. both nights.

“I have been in touch with my co-captain, Dorian, and our director Kristie to make sure that the final details for the show are complete so that show day is smooth sailing,” Finholm said. “I am very excited to be back on stage and have my family in the audience, especially because the last few shows have been over Zoom.”
