As of Sept. 15, Hood College has reported a total of eight cases of COVID-19 on campus since the start of the fall semester.

Although most of Hood College’s population has been vaccinated, COVID-19 continues to impact the campus.

Vice President for Marketing and Communications Laurie Ward said that faculty and staff are “handling the cases as we did last year and within CDC guidelines.” Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 moves to an isolation room. Students have the option to isolate at home or in campus-provided housing, according to Ward.

This time last year, Hood had 12 positive cases from the start of the 2020 fall semester, according to Ward.

According to Hood’s COVID dashboard, 95% of undergraduate students, 92% of graduate students, 91% of faculty and staff and 74% of contract employees have been fully vaccinated
