After a tough year on all faculty and students, Hood welcomes many new staff members to the family.
Nine new professors, seven new staff members for academic affairs, and three new administrative appointments joined the Hood community. Three faculty members retired the previous year from three different departments.
These 19 new staff members were welcomed to continuously improve Hood College’s academics. Each member that joins the Hood community this year is eager to begin the semester and readjust from the difficult year prior.
“As we cross the threshold of the 2021-2022 academic year, I know we will continue to face challenges. I also know that we will face them together,” Provost Debbie Ricker said in the Academic Affairs newsletter.
Tina Barr has become the assistant professor of social work, Mallory Huard the assistant professor of history and Amy Kilpatrick the assistant professor of education.
Two new faces join the biology department as assistant professors, Robert Kambic and Jeffrey Lombardo, while Pushpa Konkalmatt becomes a visiting assistant of biology.
Jessica McManus has become the assistant professor of psychology, Erik Messinger, the assistant professor of counseling and Nisha Manikoth, assistant professor of organizational leadership and director of the doctoral program.
