Kozy Dayz, a business established by a Hood student and a Hood graduate, sells clothes that people will “feel comfortable and confident wearing,” according to their mission statement.

Bryce McCown, a senior business major and Scott Kiewe, class of 2020 graduate, started Kozy Dayz in January 2021, aiming to make comfortable clothes for people in “any walk of life,” McCown said.

Kozy Dayz strives to be inclusive and wants “everybody to be able to enjoy the clothing,” Kiewe said.

Kiewe said that they did a lot of research before launching the brand “to make sure everything was done the legal, ethical and correct way.”

Kiewe said Kozy Dayz “has a very good foundation… and wants to be able to donate some of [their] clothes to people that need it in the future.”

Both Kiewe and McCown said that one of the company’s struggles was finding a logo and name that wasn’t already taken. McCown said that “learning how to get our name out there was harder than I thought it’d be.”

“A lot of our success comes out of the fact that we work really well together [and] we inspire one another each day,” Kiewe said. “Our biggest success is being able to see people wearing the clothes that we designed and put together.”
