One of the most popular restaurants in Downtown Frederick is Brewer’s Alley, which is located right on Market Street. Brewer’s calls itself Frederick County’s original brewpub as it was established in July 1996 and, according to its website, has been “serving great beers and wonderful meals to the masses ever since.”

A bar is in the front of the place and two large dining rooms are in the back. It serves a wide variety of American-style dishes and drinks.

I have been to Brewer’s multiple times and each time the service has been quick and attentive. The waitresses are all very nice and easy to make conversation with.

The music is at a volume that still allows for conversation and the bar is far enough away from the dining area that it isn’t super noisy. The tables are spread apart a good distance for COVID-19 and I felt comfortable eating in there. The wait staff is also required to wear face masks and to wipe down the tables after each customer leaves.

Brewer’s serves bar food that is done right. I have ordered the wings, crab dip, burgers, mozzarella sticks and pizza.

One of my favorites at Brewer’s has been the wings. You can order bone-in or boneless wings with choice of sauce. Each order of wings comes with a good amount of blue cheese dressing and celery sticks. I dipped my wings in the ranch dressing I asked my waitress for and the flavors of the mild wings hit my taste buds right away.

My second favorite thing to get at Brewer’s is its drink buckets. Colorful buckets are sold filled with a plethora of different drink options. You can get a margarita, rum or vodka bucket and the price is great.

But the individual margherita pizza I ordered didn’t live up to my expectations. The crust was a little soggy and there were way too many tomatoes on top and not enough cheese. I was surprised when I didn’t like the pizza because everything else I have eaten at Brewer’s has been good.

Overall, I would rate Brewer’s Alley an 8 out of 10 and would definitely recommend others to see for themselves. If you are ever in the mood for some quality bar food and good drinks, you know where to go.
