Let’s face it. College isn’t cheap. Students look for discounts to save money. There are many different resources that offer students discounts on their purchases. Some are more popular than others. A Hood College student may ask: Where can I find student discounts?

Well, the answer is simple. There are many student discount apps online and some downtown Frederick businesses that offer student discounts at their stores.

Some student discount apps online include: Chegg, Amazon, Groupon, Honey, AroundCampus, Student Beans.

Students have to visit their websites or download these apps and use their codes for a discount at checkout.

Some downtown Frederick businesses, who are involved in the Downtown Frederick Partnership Hood College Student Discount Program, also offer student discounts and those are:

  • North Market Pop Shop
  • Curious Iguana
  • Retro-Metro
  • South Market Sandwich Co
  • Surelocked In Escape Games
  • JewelZ Hair RootZ and Follicles
  • Hopewell Hair Design

All students have to do is show their Hood ID card at checkout to receive a 10% discount on their purchase. Some restrictions may apply.

The Downtown Frederick Partnership Hood College Student Discount Program allows students to save money and support local businesses.

“I think it’s a great idea to get students downtown and a great way for them to shop local and support local because they’re already going to school locally so, I think it’s a great way to get them downtown,” says Lauren Nopenz Fairley, operations manager at Curious Iguana and a Hood alumna.

This program offers more than just a discount. Michelle Schaffer, manager at North Market Pop Shop,  says “I think it’s a really good idea to get people off campus and seeing all that Downtown Frederick has to offer as part of the college experience, a special part of being at Hood College.”
