The visitation policy on campus has been adjusted to allow students to visit other dorm rooms within their own residence hall as of Sept. 24.
This change came after President Andrea Chapdelaine announced that there were no positive cases on campus during surveillance testing done the week of Sept. 20.
“I am very proud of and thank you for all you have done to ensure that we moved in the right direction after our rise in cases earlier this month,” Chapdelaine said.
On Sept. 24, the visitation policy was loosened to allow for in-room visitors. According to Hood’s website, “Residents may visit neighbors within the hall they are assigned to, students are not allowed to visit neighbors who live in halls they are not assigned to. No more than two guests may be in a room or suite at one time. If at any point, one roommate is no longer comfortable with having a guest in the room, the 51% rule applies, and guests are no longer allowed in that space. While visiting within rooms, residents must comply with the College’s COVID-19 policies.”
Students should continue to wash their hands, wear a mask, sanitize high touch areas and monitor their symptoms using the CampusClear app.
