Hood’s Women’s volleyball lost 3-1 to the Shenandoah Hornet’s at home on Thursday, Oct. 10. The Blazers won the first set 26-24, but lost the last three sets 25-14, 25-13 and 25-14 respectively.
Hood Women’s Volleyball’s senior captain Amy Hagerdon led all players in points with 15 points and 13 kills. Junior Allie Donoghue came off the bench to score second highest for Hood with 8.5 points and 8 kills.
“It was a tough loss,” Hagerdon said. “We played the first set as a team, but slowed down during the last three sets.”
The loss brings Hood’s record to 4-14. Hood’s last home game will be played against the Albright College Lions on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
The game was the first of several Hood sporting events selling t-shirts and collecting donations for the Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund as part of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The Men’s and Women’s Cross Country meet on Oct. 19 will be the Hood sporting event honoring Breast Cancer Awareness month.
