DESCRIPTION:Join HCCS\, SPARC\, and the Office of Wellness in welcoming guest speaker Haylin Belay to campus for a workshop and Q&A that will help student demystify consent\, offer practical tips for communication\, and teach skills on setting and enforcing boundaries.  The workshop will take place in Whitaker 220 on Thursday March 21\, 2024\, from 1-2 pm\, followed by a 30-minute Q&A session.  \n\n\n\nWorkshop description: What does the word “consent” actually mean? This workshop will demystify the history of this often misunderstood term\, plus offer practical tips for practicing healthy sexual communication and enforcing sexual (and non-sexual) boundaries. Join us for a queer-inclusive\, trauma-informed exploration of what it means to create a consent culture – and have better sex – starting with our own loved ones and communities. \n\n\n\nSpeaker bio: Haylin Belay is a comprehensive sex educator and psychoeducation professional with expertise in reproductive justice and trauma-informed practice. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 3v3 Intramural Basketball League. \n\n\n\nThis league will consist of 3 nights of competition\, playing 2-4 games a night. The championship games will be held on March 25\, hosting the top 2nd and 3rd seeded teams in a double elimination format with the 1st seed playing the winner in a best of 3 series.  \n\n\n\nHere’s what you need to know: \n\n\n\n* Each individual teammate must register on their own.  \n\n\n\n* Each team must be multi-gender – at least 1. \n\n\n\n* Dress in athletic attire every game day.  \n\n\n\n* Report 30 mins early to check in\, stretch\, and shoot around.  \n\n\n\n* Games will be 10 mins in length or first one to 21 points.  \n\n\n\n* If a team does not have 4 players at the start of the game\, the game will be forfeited.  \n\n\n\n* The use of profanity\, racist\, or sexist comments will not be tolerated.

DESCRIPTION:Adulting 101: Coping with College is a psychoeducational group therapy where undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to join one of two weekly sessions. This group runs for 8 weeks and ends in the first week of May. This group will aim to teach about coping during college and learning how to navigate changes in life as students begin to branch out on their own and build their independent lives.  \n\n\n\nThere will be two weekly\, hour-long sessions to choose from:  \n\n\n\n-Tuesday Cohort lead by Jason Francis\, NCTC counselor intern\, 4-5 pm\, Tatem 213 \n\n\n\n-Thursday Cohort lead by Taylor Hahn\, HCCS mental health counselor\, 2-3 pm\, Tatem 213 \n\n\n\nPick the cohort that best fit your weekly schedule and access information\, group connection\, social support about the following topics:  \n\n\n\n-Distress tolerance and coping skills \n\n\n\n-Navigating relationships and sexual wellness \n\n\n\n-Mental wellness and coping strategies for stress \n\n\n\n-Exploring goals for career\, life\, and general goal setting \n\n\n\n-Balancing physical and mental health \n\n\n\n-Understanding financial health \n\n\n\nThese groups are open\, meaning that any students\, undergraduate or graduate\, can join at any time through the semester.
