SUMMARY:Adulting 101: Coping with College Group Therapy
DESCRIPTION:Adulting 101: Coping with College is a psychoeducational group therapy where undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to join one of two weekly sessions. This group runs for 8 weeks and ends in the first week of May. This group will aim to teach about coping during college and learning how to navigate changes in life as students begin to branch out on their own and build their independent lives.  \n\n\n\nThere will be two weekly\, hour-long sessions to choose from:  \n\n\n\n-Tuesday Cohort lead by Jason Francis\, NCTC counselor intern\, 4-5 pm\, Tatem 213 \n\n\n\n-Thursday Cohort lead by Taylor Hahn\, HCCS mental health counselor\, 2-3 pm\, Tatem 213 \n\n\n\nPick the cohort that best fit your weekly schedule and access information\, group connection\, social support about the following topics:  \n\n\n\n-Distress tolerance and coping skills \n\n\n\n-Navigating relationships and sexual wellness \n\n\n\n-Mental wellness and coping strategies for stress \n\n\n\n-Exploring goals for career\, life\, and general goal setting \n\n\n\n-Balancing physical and mental health \n\n\n\n-Understanding financial health \n\n\n\nThese groups are open\, meaning that any students\, undergraduate or graduate\, can join at any time through the semester. DESCRIPTION:In these 5 classes taught by the University of Maryland Extension\, we’ll discuss money & values\, tracking spending\, saving and investing\, paying for major purchases\, credit scores\, investing and more! \n\n\n\nClasses will be held from 5-6PM on Feb 8 and 22\, March 7 and 28 and April 11. Dinner will be served. Participants are asked to commit to attending most classes (4 out of the 5) to get the most benefit from the course.
