Hood College men’s soccer looks to build on where they left off, working to extend a postseason run in hopes of pursuing a MAC championship title.
Hood College men’s soccer returns to the field following a 10-6-2 season in 2025 and a postseason loss to the Falcons of Messiah University. Led by head coach Geoff Moore, the Blazers welcome 13 new incoming first-year and transfer students to their program.
Moore shared his thoughts and expectations for the upcoming season. “There is high competition among these players,” Moore said. Moore believes all players regardless of their class have put in the desired effort in the summer and offseason and is eager to see their performance as matches begin on Tuesday, Sept. 1. “Their job is to make mine difficult… having so many good options, it is about figuring out the right lineups, the right leaders,” Moore said.
The Blazers begin their season at home on Sept. 1 against St. Mary’s College of Maryland followed shortly by a trip to SUNY Oneonta, New York where they will compete in the Mayor’s Cup against Hartwick College, King’s College and most notably SUNY Oneonta, who has made their way deep into the NCAA Tournament consistently.
“This has never been done before,” Moore said. “Our success will be seen if we play for the group and prove we can play one notch better than we played the day before.”
Moore wants fans to expect hard work and lots of scoring this season. “We’re here to entertain, and so we want to play at a high tempo,” Moore said. Moore emphasized the impact support from fans has on the team’s success. “Just to show up and make our program feel loved gives us the edge over the competition.”
