Students came together to taste international drinks and make holiday crafts as part of the International Education Week celebration.
Drinks included matcha, assorted teas and hot chocolate. Music played while students decorated foam gingerbread designs.
Why foam gingerbread?
Jasmine Paulino, a volunteer, said real gingerbread wasn’t available online and couldn’t be made on campus because of health and safety rules.
“People are always going to be disappointed,” Paulino said when asked if students missed the real thing.
Sunny Zavala, another volunteer, said organizers wanted to try something new this year. Last year’s event featured gingerbread houses, but this time students decorated flat designs instead.
About 20 people attended the event.
Hood has hosted International Education Week since 2019.
