Hood College Theatre is preparing for the performance of the play “Tell Me Something Good,” a “patchwork play” consisting of different parts and characters connected by a single theme.
The free show will run from Friday, Nov. 21, until Sunday, Nov. 23, in the Black Box theater in Tatem Hall.
Each of the seven cast members will play multiple roles. One actor, Eyob Jigsa, said that he had “five total main roles” to play for the performance and “two to three background characters.”
The play contains heavy themes, including suicide; however, Aaron Angello, assistant professor of English at Hood College and director of the theater program, stated that he does not believe any controversy will arise.
“That’s part of what plays do,” Angello said. He also stated that these topics are performed with a dark comedic aspect in mind, but in a way that still treats them seriously.
Show times are 7 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, and 7 p.m. Sunday.
