Over winter break, the Hood College athletic department had the pleasure of welcoming on Coach Conor Prachar who was named the head coach of the women’s soccer team for the 2016 fall season. The 2015 season was not a season to remember in the record books. The Lady Blazer’s finished off the season with a record of 4 – 14.

Out of the twenty-four girl roster, the Lady Blazer’s will only be losing three players due to graduation. The three graduating seniors are Alexis Andrukat, Katie Bailey, and Leah Norris. With only losing three girls the team has a fantastic opportunity to build a strong winning team, which will start with building a framework of individuals who put in the time on and off the field.

After asking Coach Prachar what he thought about the upcoming season, there was one thing he said which defied what he wants to do with the program. He said, “While there are certainly things which excite me as an individual, the most exciting part is that the team will hit the ground running”. Coach Prachar is beyond ecstatic to be working with the women’s soccer program, and will be bringing along a different style of play where young women are going to want to be a part of the team.

The main goal this upcoming season for Coach Prachar is to “develop a core set of values, and building a competitive training environment”. Coach Prachar believes that the women’s soccer team will be a program with a winning culture from day one; most importantly the women’s soccer team will start working towards each of their goals this spring and fall.
